Need a guy?
We know a guy.
What do you need?
Pick a service and see who we recommend for it. Details come later, only if you want quotes.
Rather look around first?
The whole printed guide, live: every service, every company we recommend, page for page.
Why I made this
I got tired of not knowing who to call.
Finding a list was never the problem. Search for a plumber and you get a screen full of names that tell you nothing. Somebody paid for the top spot. The reviews are a coin flip. You call around, half of them never call back, and the one who does quotes double.
So I built the opposite. A homeowner’s guide to the best companies for whatever your house needs, screened before any of them get a page.
If I wouldn’t call them for my own home, they’re not in this list.

How it works
01
Pick the service.
Choose what you need and your ZIP. No account, and nothing is sent yet.
02
See who we recommend.
The local companies we recommend for that service, with their numbers.
03
Call them, or ask them all.
Dial whoever you like. Or send the job once and let them come back to you.
The whole point
Call any name in here blind.
These are recommendations, the old-fashioned kind. The screening is how we make sure we’re never embarrassed by one.
No one can buy their way in
There is no top spot because there is no ranking. Companies pay for the page only after they clear the screening, never for placement.
Checked by a person, not an algorithm
The license looked up in the state database. Insurance attested in writing. A real conversation with the owner. Recent work, references called.
Re-earned every season
The book reprints each edition and the screening runs again. Slip on quality or stop answering local calls, and the slot goes to someone better.
A short list, on purpose
A handful of names per trade, not a directory of hundreds. Getting in is the credential, and staying in is the harder part.
A neighbor's name on the whole thing
Luke's number is printed on every page. If a company lets you down, call him. They can lose the page over it.
No cut of your job
The companies answer to you directly. We take no percentage of the work, so nobody has a reason to inflate your bid.
The same list mails to every home in the ZIP as a printed book.See the book, live →
